Try to imagine what it would be like to flourish. To be healthy, strong, and fruitful like King David. He wrote in Psalm 52 that he was a flourishing olive tree in God’s house. What does that look like? How would it feel? Can we be like David?
“But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God.
I trust in God’s unfailing love for ever and ever. For what you have done I will always praise you in the presence of your faithful people.”
Psalm 52:8-9
A flourishing olive tree is strong, beautiful in form, and abundantly fruitful. Spiritually, it is what we should strive to be.
A flourishing believer learns to trust in God.
This requires us to let go of our anxieties and depend on him.
It is a fruitful heart that worships and praises God among his people.
• In what ways do you struggle to trust in God’s love?
• Can you trust and praise him today?
• Is it your goal to become a flourishing tree in the house of God?
Lord, I seek to be a flourishing tree in your presence. To worship you with wholehearted praise and know that you are with me.
Please Holy Spirit, help my heart to flourish.
