MICHELLE REESCANO, LCSW-S

For 20+ years I have counted it both a joy and a privilege to connect with people who may be experiencing life crisis, traumatic experiences, grief, negative thinking patterns, or an inability to cope with daily life demands. I am grateful for the exchange that takes place within the therapeutic process because it helps me to continuously grow and evolve.

WHY WOULD I NEED COUNSELING?

Counseling can help in a number of different situations. Sometimes people behave and think a certain way and are not sure why they do. Sometimes people continue to make the same choices and get the same results even when they want some-thing different. A trained counselor can help you find the reasons for your decisions and provide alternative options for meeting your needs.

WHAT HAPPENS IN COUNSELING?

Entering into a counseling relationship can be a scary process because you are allowing another person to see where you hurt. Yet, it is in the act of opening up that we can begin to help each other. It is our goal to come along side and help you learn effective ways to meet your needs. We will be “speaking the truth in love” as we walk together. You can expect to have a safe place to share your concerns with confidence that those concerns will remain private between you and your counselor. You will be faced with opportunities to change and grow which can be hard, but you will not go through it alone. Your counselor will walk with you. Therapy is a team effort. You need to take an active part so it is a valuable experience for you. Be open and honest about your feelings and come prepared to talk and ask questions.
