  • Rick Fyffe, Senior Minister

In July, 2006, I began as Interim Preacher at Southeast. I was working full-time in ministry with Hope for Haiti’s Children, but over the months my wife, Danielle, and I fell in love with the people at Southeast, and well, here I am! I serve as Chief of Staff and function as the Senior Minister. My primary responsibilities are to manage the ministry staff, to work with our Elders, and to keep the Southeast family moving forward towards our mission and ministry. I love the people, enjoy the great fellowship, and appreciate the vision and enthusiasm for the future. Danielle teaches Bible class every Sunday, leads Small Group bible studies, and is a professional counselor to our church and community. Our son, Derek, works for Southeast as our Media Manager. It’s great getting to be around him and to see him every day. Our daughter, Kelsey, is married and is also a professional Counselor here in the Houston area. Email

  • Tim Shoulders, Associate Minister

I came on staff, as Associate Minister, in August, 2015. A number of things attracted me to Southeast including a vibrant & friendly atmosphere, an outstanding ministry staff, and a wonderful group of elders. My focus at Southeast is upon Life Groups, Member Involvement, New Members, and Family Ministry. My wife, Michelle, and I met and married as students at ACU. After graduation, she began teaching school, and I began serving as a Youth & Family Minister. In 2003, we moved to the Houston area where Michelle began working as an Assistant Principal at Bellaire High School, and I began serving as an Associate Minister at Sugar Grove Church of Christ. All of our children were born in Russia and spent the beginning of their lives in Russian orphanages. My family and I have been overwhelmed at the acceptance, excitement, and energy of the Southeast church. Email

  • Lanny Partain, Pastoral Care Minister

My wife, Donna, and I came to Southeast in 2001. We found Southeast to be a place that focused more on people than on tradition and doctrine while still holding to the core values of our faith. I am kept at Southeast by a strong attachment to the members and a continuing faith in the mission of the congregation. Donna and I have two daughters, Sheila in Nederland, TX, and Jana in Round Rock, TX. Sheila has two children, Kara and Charlie. Both girls are married to men who, like them, are teachers by profession. Jana and her husband are teachers in the Texas State School for the Deaf in Austin. Sheila and her husband work in the Beaumont school district. Sheila is in deaf education also. Email

  • Debbie Landry, Executive Minister & Chief Financial Officer

I joined the church staff in December of 1997. My family immediately connected with a warm and inviting church family. As the Executive Minister, I provide oversight and direction of church operations and staff. My focus is to work in partnership with all staff to create an environment and ministry that fulfills the Southeast mission. I am so proud to be part of a community of people that very deliberately wants to make a difference in the lives of people with whom we come in contact, whether it is face to face or through our outreach efforts. I am originally from Southern California and moved to Texas 25 years ago.  I have proudly raised two beautiful and talented daughters who are now married and building their own families. In 2010, my world took on new meaning with the birth of my first granddaughter, followed by two more granddaughters and one grandson.   Email

  • Janel Hopper, Children's Minister

We joined Southeast in 1999. We loved the worship here immediately, but what made us stay was getting to know the people.  We became connected very quickly to a LIFE group and built great relationships. I love the heart of this church. The people here are our family, and I love sharing life with them as we seek to change the world together. I am the Children’s Minister at Southeast focusing on our preschool-4th grade kids. I love working with our families, and I am so blessed to get to partner with parents in the spiritual nurturing of their children. My husband, Travis, and I have been married since 1995. We have two sons, Reagan and Kelton. We love traveling, spending time with our extended family, and just enjoying being together. Email

  • Parker Sanderson, Youth Minister

I began my work as the Southeast Youth Minister in July 2016. I have been associated with Southeast for over 10 years (since I was in college), working with the teens that attended Camp Wyldewood in Searcy, Arkansas.  My wife, Tara, attended Southeast growing up, and we had been thinking about moving to this area to be closer to her family. When I heard that Southeast was in the process of searching for a youth minister, and after lots of prayer and discussion, we decided to apply for the position.  While my ministry focus is on the Southeast teens and their families, I also help support our CrossOver and Children’s Ministries. The first thing I realized is that the Southeast church believes that Jesus is the Son of God.  I spent three weeks straight with the kids at two different camps and saw that right off the bat.  Southeast is also very welcoming to all.  From the first day we arrived, we felt like part of the family. Tara is a 5th grade ELA teacher at Deer Park Elementary.  We have three children.  Our daughter, Rylee, is five and will be going to Kindergarten in the fall.  Our son, Alanson, is two, and our youngest son, Paul, is three months old. • David & Barbie Carlisle, Pastoral Care Ministers

David came to Southeast with the Broadway congregation in 1973, and Barbie joined Southeast when many members of the Sun Valley Church came in 1986. The Southeast family drew us here, and we’ve stayed because of the relationships we enjoy, Southeast’s leadership, the Minister, and Sunday and Wednesday night’s Bible study. We have five grown children and eleven grandchildren. We are on Staff at Southeast as Pastoral Care Ministers, but we are also involved in other ministries. We work with Christian Helping Hands, LIFE Groups, Hope for Haiti’s Children, Prayer Parlour, visiting shut-ins and Men’s/Women’s Bible Study.

  • Jayson Henry, Worship Minister

Joy and I joined Southeast in 2000. We were attracted by the worship, children’s programs and strong leadership, but we stayed because of the connections we made. We continue to call Southeast home because of our involvement in Haiti, our excellence in children’s programming, our passion for life-changing worship, our dedication to meaningful Bible study and how all of our ministries work under the leadership of Godly men to change our world to the glory of Jesus Christ. Joy and I reside in Pearland with our two sons, Chad and Brian.  It is my joy to be the Worship Minister and to be responsible for our corporate worship experiences.  Email

  • Melissa McAdams, Preschool Minister

My family and I joined Southeast in 2004. We had a 2-year-old at the time and were looking for a congregation where we could get plugged into a great children’s program. We found that and more!  My husband, James, and I co-lead a LIFE Group with Travis and Janel Hopper, I’m the director for The Vine Preschool, and I work closely with the Children’s Ministers to plan events, camps, and Sunday morning classes. Southeast is our family. We feel very at home here. James and I have two sons, Cason and Brady. James is a Broker and Manager at Aetna Insurance. Our family enjoys spending time together and being involved in each other's lives. Cason plays the drums in band, and Brady has quite the imagination and enjoys making his own books and movies. •        Managers

  • Linda May, Office Manager

I was a member of the Broadway Church of Christ which merged with Southeast in January, 1973; suddenly we had a new group of brothers and sisters to love and serve alongside. Serving in and co-leading the Benevolence Ministry has had a special place in my heart for a long time. After teaching children’s classes for many years, now I love helping our teachers behind the scenes by maintaining the teachers’ workroom. At Southeast, I am so blessed by strong friendships and opportunities for personal growth born and nurtured through my LIFE Group and a long-term women’s Bible study; by uplifting worship and Spirit-led preaching and teaching; and by our elders who lead by example, demonstrating their great love for all people. I am blessed to have my parents, Gerald and Louise Holley, here at Southeast, and I have two wonderful sons. Ryan and his wife, Elizabeth, live in the Houston area, and Chris and his wife, Jennifer, are in Springfield, Missouri. Email

  • Derek Fyffe, Media Manager

I joined Southeast in 2010. Rick Fyffe, the Senior Minister, is my father, and he knew I was looking for a job. He asked if I would be interested in answering phones part-time. Debbie Landry, who was Office Manager at the time, intercepted this plan and reoriented me towards the Soundroom. A few months later, I was on Staff. I am now Media Manger, and my responsibilities include producing Sunday morning worship, special events, video production, website design and maintenance, and an AV internship program for our Youth Ministry. The friends I have found while working here, both in the office and in the membership, keep me at Southeast. Since Dad works here too, we occasionally carpool to save money on gas.  I have a sister named Kelsey who is a lifelong friend and occasional rival. My father has been a Preaching Minister my entire life. Mom, Danielle, works in Children’s Ministry here and is developing a counseling practice. Email

  •        Administrative Support

  • Shirley Bazzy, Ministry Assistant

My husband, Bill, and I placed membership in 1986 because we found Southeast to be an active, friendly congregation that offered a variety of ministries to our family. The preacher was caring and inspiring and we were impressed by the leadership of the elders. I serve in the Prayer Parlour and have hosted a Bible study in my home for many years. On Staff, I work as a Ministry Assistant. Southeast is my church home and my spiritual family. I have developed life-long relationships here and am excited about the direction of growth that our congregation is moving in under the leadership of our elders. Southeast makes a difference for my family and my community. Bill and I have three loving sons and three wonderful grandchildren. Email

  • Michelle McDaniel, Ministry Assistant

I joined the Southeast family on July 16, 1997, when I was baptized into the body of Christ.  I practically grew up here. My husband, Chris, and I met in the Southeast Youth Group. As an adult, I’ve stayed very active in Youth Ministry and I also taught at The Vine Preschool. On Staff, I am a Ministry Assistant for the finance department at Southeast, and my focus is to ensure we are able to minister to our fullest capacity. Chris and I have two sons, Logan and Tyler, and we are expecting our third boy now.  Email
