Discover Southeast Church of Christ
Our Heritage
We come
from a long line of Christians! Our congregation's history is traced to an upper room of a
drug store in
Houston in 1914.
Fewer than a dozen people began meeting together at
the corner of Harrisburg and 67th
Street. These Christians, acting by faith purchased
land and built a church building at the corners of
Wayside and Sherman.
In 1965, we moved to a
location on the Gulf Freeway, just outside of Hobby
Airport. Significant portions of other church
families gathered with the newly named Southeast
Church of Christ over the years, especially Broadway
and Sun Valley. Southeast church moved to 2400
West Bay Area Boulevard in January of 2004.
Our goal is to be a Signpost of the
Kingdom of God to the communities of Southeast
Houston. We want to be a Foretaste of heaven, a
place where people can experience the ethics of
heaven being lived out on earth. We want to be a
family that is an Instrument in the Hands of God,
and instrument of grace, and peace, and hope. This
is our story!!
