Traveling
home together. That pretty much describes us. At
Southeast, we believe that Christianity, like life, is not just a
Sunday morning event, but a journey. At the same time, every
journey has to have a starting place. For those who are curious
about Christianity, or Southeast in particular, Sunday morning is
a great starting place. Here's what you can expect from our Sunday
Morning Experience.
When
You Get here
When
you get here, you can expect a friendly greeting from most anyone
you meet. If
you'll be visiting us for the first time (oh, even if it's your
second or third visit), look for the guys (or gals) in the orange
vests. Stop and let them know you're visiting and they'll point
you to the good parking spots. At Southeast the good spots aren't
reserved for the preacher and staff. They're for you! They'll also make sure you have directions or a personal
guide to help get you where you're going - the Nursery area,
Kingdom Kids, our Teen area, adult classes, worship center, to get
coffee and donuts, the restroom, wherever.
Atmosphere
When
you walk through the doors you’ll see people from all walks of
life- health professionals, students, stay at home moms, shift
workers, engineers, business men and women, you know…people like
you. People from all
walks of life, dressed in everything from casual to business
casual attire.
Worship
Service
We
have worship in what we call our Worship Center.
Come in and sit anywhere you'd like.
Participate in as much as you want or feel free to just
observe. We want to be friendly, but won't point you out or
embarrass you in any way. Follow along in your program (The
Worship Guide). It lists the order of what we will do and provides
information about what is happening at Southeast. You'll find our
worship refreshingly simple, relaxed, and down to earth. Our songs
are lead by a "song leader" and our worship team. You
wont' hear an organ or band, just pure voices singing about God
and the Christian life. You'll hear a word from our preacher that
addresses the big questions of life.
During what we call the "Lord's Supper," plates
with unsalted crackers and small cups of grape juice are passed
around the seats. When Christians eat and drink this, it helps
them remember what Jesus did for them and the implications for us
at Southeast. You're
welcome to break off a small piece of cracker and drink the juice
from one of the small cups or just pass the tray on to the next
person.
The
only other thing you can expect from us is to be invited back.
P.S.
And
be sure not to miss our Hospitality time. From 10:00 to 10:30
people will be milling around, meeting, and greeting. It's quite a
crowd, so start by grabbing a donut and a cup of coffee. Visit Guest Services to find out what going on at Southeast.
Consider this your personal 'search engine' for what's happening
with - Children's programs, Child care, youth events, LIFE groups,
women's ministry, sports, community service projects. If it's
happening, you can find out about it right here.
