MA, NCC, LPC-Intern
An EMDR Trained Therapist
Supervised by CAROL MANLEY,
M.Ed., LPC-Supervisor, LMFT
I am a National Certified Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern. I received my Bachelor Degree from Lubbock Christian University and my Master of Arts degree from Adams State University. I am also training to become proficient in EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
My husband and I have been in full-time church ministry for more than 35 years, and during that time, we have offered pastoral and spiritual counseling. Realizing the limitations of such counseling, I finally went back to school to obtain my graduate degree.
I believe God created perfection and placed it all in the Garden of Eden. Unfortunately, sin entered the picture and people have been struggling with the effects of sin ever since. Sometimes that struggle is beyond our resources and understanding. We need to have someone help us through life’s troubles.
God is the perfect healer and has the answers to every trouble we face. We just have to listen. And while we are listening to God, I am also listening to my client because my client is the expert in his or her own situation. I merely help my client clarify their path.
I work with adults, couples, and teenagers. I am interested in helping my clients deal with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship issues, spiritual issues, marriage issues, pre-marital counseling, trauma, and others. I am passionate about helping couples build a strong marriage relationship so they can foster a strong and healthy family.
While I am passionate about my own spiritual walk and desire to see everyone grow closer to God, I do respect the journey each person is on. It is not my place to dictate to you how your walk should look. God is big enough to handle that part all by himself.
I am married to a pastor, have two adult children, one son-in-law, and one Persian cat. I dearly love spending time with my family, and I sometimes try to do a craft project. I am very involved in Bible Study Fellowship, having been a member then a group leader since 2005.
